CHEM 3400 - Structure and Reactivity of Biomolecules

Description
Three lecture hours a week This is an intermediate lecture in organic chemistry. There is emphasis on an in-depth study of reaction mechanisms, functional group transformations, and the synthesis of moderately complex molecules by multi-step strategies, including carbonyl chemistry. Includes mechanistic biochemical concepts including amino acids, peptides, and carbohydrates. This course is designed for students majoring in science, engineering, pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, and pre-pharmacy.
