PHIL 4050 - Topics in 17th-18th Century Philosophy

Prerequisites: One 2000- or 3000-level philosophy course or consent of instructor.

Description
Intensive study of works of modern philosophers such as Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Malebranche, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Berkeley, Hume, Reid, Kant, and Hegel. Course may cover a single philosopher, or it may survey the development of a particular area of modern philosophy (such as moral philosophy, political philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, or aesthetics). A maximum of six credit hours may be applied toward the major. May be repeated only if content varies
