PHIL 4530 - Philosophy of Language

Description
This course explores how language is able to represent the world and communicate our beliefs about it. Topics may include the nature of language, theories of meaning and reference, semantic paradoxes, private language, speech acts, and non-human language. A maximum of six credit hours may be applied toward the degree. May be repeated but only if content varies
