AAS 4285 - Womanism and Social Change

Description
This upper level course will explore womanism and social change as revealed in the oral histories and autobiographies of women of color who utilize religion or spirituality as a basis for their social justice commitments. This course will investigate activists from the Arab Spring, the Occupy Movement, Standing Rock, and Black Lives Matter movements amplifying research on queer women and women of color in non-violent social movements.
