ECON 4930 - Mathematical Economics


3 Credit Hours
Prerequisites: ECON 2105  and ECON 2106 , and MATH 2211  or MATH 1220 .
Description
This course provides an introduction to mathematical techniques that are frequently used in economic analysis. Topics covered include algebra, equations, functions, differentiation, derivatives, descriptive statistics, probability theory, random variables and computation of various characteristics, distribution and characteristics of functions of random variables, confidence interval, hypothesis testing, and other relevant topics. Emphasis is placed on the applications of mathematics to topics in economic theory.
