SPAN 4432 - Spanish Culture in Transition

Prerequisites: SPAN 3303 and SPAN 3314 with a C or higher, or equivalent.

Description
Focus on social, political, and economic issues in contemporary Spain through the lens of cultural production including music, art, architecture, photography, and urban space as well as literature and film. The course will look at these issues and these forms of culture within the context political transition to democracy in the 1970s and the ongoing polemics that surround and complicate it. Taught in Spanish. Global Scholars course.
