AAS 4362 - Reggae’s Roots and Routes of Resistance

3 Credit Hours


Description
This course looks at the origins, evolution, and global diffusion of reggae music and culture, and Rastafari. It incorporates readings on Jamaica’s musical, and religious history, Jamaica’s linguistic situation, focusing on Jamaican Creole and Dread Talk, as well as theoretical readings on the African diaspora. (Same as AAS 6360).
