PHPB 9320 - Public Health Education and Workforce Development


3 Credit Hours
Prerequisites: Must be officially enrolled as a Doctoral-level Public Health major.
Description
This course covers the use of current best practices in professional development to increase the capacity of the public health workforce in advancing population health. Students will learn to identify gaps between public health knowledge and practice; assess the professional development needs of the public health workforce; identify or develop educational solutions to meet these needs; deliver training or educational experiences that promote learning and skill development in academic, organizational or community settings; and assess the near-and-long-term impact and outcomes of the educational experiences provided. Students will also learn to examine personal and organizational readiness for change as factors in developing workforce education programs.
