Degree Requirements


Areas A-E: Core Curriculum Recommendations


  1. Area B: Cross-cultural Art History courses may be offered in this area as sections of PERS 2001 - Perspectives on Comparative Culture  (2) or PERS 2003 - Perspectives on Human Expression  (2).
  2. Area C: Students may select one Art History survey in Area C.

Area F: Courses Appropriate to the Major (18 Hours)

Once admitted to the Art Education program, students should maintain continual contact with the school and should submit an “Intent to Student Teach” form for the following year. Failure to submit the “Intent to Student Teach” form may result in a delay in student teaching placement and graduation.

Area G: Major Courses


A grade of C- or higher must be earned in all required courses, a grade of B- or higher is required in all Art Education courses, and a GPA of 3.0 is required for all art content courses.

In order to graduate, students must have taken the CTW course required for this concentration (AE 4200 ). This course should be taken at the appropriate time, as described below.
