Master’s Thesis

Students pursuing the research track of the Biomedical Science and Enterprise concentration must complete a thesis on a subject connected with their primary field of study. The master’s thesis is intended to allow the student to contribute to the theoretical, conceptual, empirical and practical base in translational biomedical science. The thesis must be the student’s original work and reflect high standards of scholarly inquiry, technical mastery and literary skill.

Student thesis progress will be reviewed periodically by the student’s thesis advisory committee. After submitting the thesis document, the advisory committee will complete written evaluations of each student’s written and oral communication skills. Overall performance will be evaluated based on an assessment of whether each student exceeds, meets or does not meet expectations.

Specific thesis guidelines can be obtained from the Institute for Biomedical Sciences Office of Academic Assistance. Guidelines are subject to change.
