Music Production & Audio Recording Concentration
Students in the B.S. in Music Industry are advised to take a combination of courses from the Field of Study and Major areas during their first and second year of study. Field of Study (18 Hours)
Foundation courses to the major and concentration. Required Courses
12 Hours Music Production & Audio Recording Concentration students should complete Theory and Aural Skills courses through level II to fulfill the requirement below. Placement may vary based on placement exam results. MUS 10XX Appropriate Large Ensemble
4 Hours (4 semesters, 1 credit each) Ensembles: please note that students are assigned to appropriate ensembles by pool auditions at the beginning of every fall and spring semester. Select One of the Following Options
2 Hours Course options are dependent upon the results of Audition or Digital Portfolio entrance to the School of Music. - If accepted through audition:
- APXX 1001 Applied Music - Freshman I 1 Credit Hour and APXX 1002 Applied Music - Freshman II 1 Credit Hour
- If accepted through digital portfolio:
Performance Requirements
4 Hours Course options are dependent upon the results of an Audition or Digital Portfolio entrance to the School of Music. - If accepted through audition (4 Hours):
- APXX 2001 Applied Music - Sophomore I 1 Credit Hour and APXX 2002 Applied Music - Sophomore II 1 Credit Hour
- with MUS 4010 Performance Lab (0) (2 semesters)
- MUS 30XX Appropriate large ensemble 1 Credit Hour (2 semesters, 2 hours)
- If accepted through digital portfolio select courses to complete 4 credit hours:

32 Hours Computer Technology Requirement
2 Hours Music History Requirement
3 Hours Select one: Critical Thinking Through Writing (CTW)
3 Hours Music Industry Requirements
6 Hours Select two: Electives
5 Hours Choose 5 credit hours to complete a minimum of 120 hours. |
