Concentration Requirements
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers the Bachelor of Science with a major in mathematics and concentration in applied mathematics. The program provides a broad background in core areas of applied mathematics, including differential equations, modeling, computational mathematics, numerical methods, and statistics. Students must receive credit for CSC 1301 and CSC 1302 in Area F or as electives. CTW Requirement (3 Hours)
Complete the following course to fulfill the Critical Thinking Through Writing (CTW) requirement: Mathematics Requirements (21-25 Hours)
Major Electives (12 Hours)
Choose four courses from the following: Additional Major Course
Select three additional hours of 3000/4000-level mathematics courses, of which 3 hours at most may be at the 3000 level (excluding MATH 3020 , MATH 3030 , MATH 3050 , MATH 3070 , and MATH 3090 ). Additional CoursesAdditional Courses Area
