The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies/School of Social Work is committed to developing the next generation of leaders who are prepared to implement strategic solutions to contemporary social problems through cross-sector partnerships with an ethos of public service. Public Service means providing and acting for the good of society. Bringing a public service mindset to the biggest challenges of today-poverty, education, racism, inequity, climate change, healthcare-encourages collaborative problem solving and action for the benefit of all.

The Certificate in Collective Social Action is an 12-credit hour credential designed for bachelor’s degree seeking student at Georgia State University. The certificate prepares students to work as collaborators across sectors and disciplines to impact the world through innovative solutions to complex or “wicked” social issues. By earning the certificate, students discover how to align their personal and academic skills with their professional goals to do good in their community.
