In our rapidly evolving and digitized world, the imperative is no longer whether to engage with digital technology, but rather how adeptly one can navigate and harness its potential. The Digital Humanities certificate has been established in recognition of the profound impact that the digital revolution has had on the humanistic disciplines. This certificate program empowers students with the essential skills and knowledge to critically engage with, analyze, and contribute to the evolving intersection of technology and the humanities. By blending traditional studies in areas such as critical thinking, communication, and cultural analysis with cutting-edge digital tools and methodologies, this innovative and interdisciplinary approach addresses the increasing demand for individuals equipped with both humanities expertise and digital literacy. The program ensures a comprehensive and flexible educational path that complements existing degree requirements and enhances students’ understanding of technology’s impact on culture, society, and the human experience. The certificate provides students with a wide range of valuable career competencies and increases their marketability after graduation.

Certificate Course Credit

Courses taken as part of a Georgia State University certificate program count toward the requirements of the certificate and may also count toward core curriculum, major, and minor requirements. However, students are advised to limit themselves no more than two certificates during their undergraduate studies. Please consult with an academic advisor if considering pursuing an undergraduate certificate. A grade of C or higher is required in all courses counting toward the certificate.
