Georgia State University’s Urban Education Endorsement provides specialized preparation for teaching in urban settings at the level of an educator’s base certificate. Undergraduate education majors who are enrolled in teacher certification programs where the endorsement is not embedded, may apply to be enrolled in the stand-alone endorsement. Successful completion of an undergraduate education degree, an initial teacher certification program, and the three strands found below with the associated key assessments, qualifies a person for the bachelor’s level (T-4) endorsement in urban education. Enrolled Georgia State University education majors should consult the College of Education and Human Development Office of Academic Assistance website for additional information.
