Admission to the Major (B.I.S. in Health Sciences)

Students who begin as freshmen, transfer, transition or re-entry at Georgia State University will be classified as NS Undeclared until they have earned at least 45 credit hours. At that point, students may declare the B.I.S. in Health Sciences upon achieving a minimum GPA of 2.5.

For purposes of determining eligibility for the major, the GPA requirement will be evaluated based on the higher of the student’s Georgia State (institutional) GPA or overall (cumulative) GPA. This standard applies to current Georgia State students seeking to change their major into Health Sciences, as well as re-entry students.

Transfer and transition students who meet university admission requirements may declare the major upon acceptance to Georgia State University. Evaluation of GPA for these students will follow the same standard, using the highest applicable GPA available at the time of admission.

There is no secondary admissions process for the B.I.S. in Health Sciences.
