Recreational Services promotes healthy lifestyles through exceptional programs, services, and facilities. Recreational Services manages three facilities on the Atlanta campus: Student Recreation Center, Indian Creek Recreation Area and Panthersville. The department also operates out of Building CG on the Clarkston campus, Building SC on the Decatur campus, Building NF on the Dunwoody campus and the Field House on the Newton campus.
The Student Recreation Center on the Atlanta campus is a four-story, award winning, 161,000 square foot facility available to Georgia State University students, faculty, staff, and alumni. A current, validated PantherCard is required for entry into the facility, participation in any recreation activity and all rentals.
The Indian Creek Recreation Area (ICRA), a 16-acre wooded site in DeKalb County, is home to the Indian Creek Lodge that is available for use, for a fee, by registered university student organizations and departments for university business. TThe property also includes a large event lawn, a large outdoor swimming pool for use during the summer, a sand volleyball court and picnic areas.
In DeKalb County, the Panthersville Recreation Complex provides lighted playing fields and other accommodations for sports clubs and intramural activities.
Recreational Services offers a wide variety of programs that serve a diverse student body, including aquatics, instructional clinics, fitness classes, personal training, nutritional counseling, outdoor adventure, intramural competition, sport clubs and drop-in play. Supported by student fees, many of the programs are free of charge; however, those with a fee are very reasonably priced. Whether you enjoy a playing flag football, skiing in Colorado or learning to salsa, there is a program for you.
Each Perimeter College campus offers recreation opportunities to participate in a variety of fun, challenging and entertaining activities, such as Zumba, yoga, Pilates and fitness boot camp. Information regarding each campus and services offered are located on the website recreation.gsu.edu.
