PT 8825 - PT Management of Musculoskeletal Disorders V

3 Credit Hours
Prerequisites: Entry into the PT program and successful completion of all prior DPT courses.
Description
This course emphasizes the best practice models for the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and management of patients/clients with musculoskeletal disorders. A variety of classification systems are presented to identify patients who will most likely benefit from selected interventions. This course will focus on the principles and techniques necessary to perform a competent physical therapy examination and intervention program for common musculoskeletal dysfunctions of the UE, LE, and spine including thrust and non-thrust techniques. Where little evidence exists, a pragmatic approach integrating basic and clinical sciences and clinical reasoning principles will be used in the clinical decision-making process.
