PHPB 9990 - Dissertation 3 to 9 Credit Hours Prerequisites: Completion of comprehensive doctoral examination. Description Involves the research and writing of the doctoral dissertation. Successful completion requires a significant contribution to the theoretical, conceptual, empirical, or practice base in the field of public health. Dissertation may extend beyond one term. Doctoral students who have passed the comprehensive examination must register for this course each term until graduation to satisfy the continuous registration requirement. A grade of IP (indicating that satisfactory progress was made on the dissertation) or U (indicating lack of satisfactory progress) is assigned each term. At the end of the term during which the dissertation is completed/defended, a grade of S (satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory) is assigned to the student. (Repeatable).
