Description
This course examines universities as complex organizations. Drawing on classic and contemporary organizational theory, the course will look at postsecondary organizations through the lens of different theoretical frameworks, such as bureaucracy, cultural frameworks, institutional theory, organized anarchy, and others. The course will utilize case studies of organizational conflict in higher education (drawn from recent events) to explore each framework.
