EPY 8265 - Health Behavior: Acquisition and Change

In this fully online class, students explore the theories and advances in research that address personal or cultural beliefs, individual or group behaviors, and intervention strategies implicated in controlling infectious diseases (such as COVID-19 and HIV), managing chronic illnesses (such as diabetes and asthma), and promoting wellness practices to prevent substance abuse, obesity, skin cancer, violence, and stress-related diseases. The course will include readings, presentations, discussions, case studies, practical exercises, and student-selected special topics such as e-health interventions and vaccine controversies.

Requirements: Requirement: A minimum grade of “C” is required for this course. Successful completion of this course meets one of the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Health Literacy.
