SOCI 8124 - Diversity and Aging

(Same as AAS 6042 and GERO 8124) A broad overview of aging within the framework of race and ethnicity in American society. Major issues include minority aging research methodology; theories of ethnicity and aging; and life-course, “life-chance,” and socialization differences among older adults attributable to race, ethnicity, and/or minority status.
