ECON 8080 - Economics of the Public Sector

Analysis of the role of government in the economy. Survey of the problems of monopoly, government regulation, externalities, public goods, and income redistribution. Survey of public sector decision-making techniques such as benefit-cost analysis. Emphasis on measuring the output and costs of government services.
