CPS 6410 - Basic Counseling Skills


3 Hours
A minimum grade of “S” is required for passing this course. This course is an introduction to basic counseling skills. It exposes students to the helping skills necessary for effective mental health counseling, rehabilitative counseling, school counseling, and school psychology. The course is applicable to graduate students, in other disciplines, that use intentional interviewing and interpersonal skills to promote personal growth and development in others. This course includes both didactic and experiential learning.
