Description
Same as ANTH 3500. Provides an introduction to the ethnography of Sub-Saharan Africa. It highlights change and resistance to change and seeks to understand the historical and cultural conditions underpinning current predicaments facing African societies, as well as the fact that tragedy is only once facet of African lives and experiences. Suitable for students majoring in Global Studies, Anthropology, African-American Studies, History, and the Social and Behavioral Sciences. (Same as ANTH 3500.)Global Scholars course.
