ANTH 4130 - Indigenous Voices: Generational Trauma, Resistance, and Resilience

Description
This course introduces students to Indigenous issues by placing Indigenous authors at the center. Topics include: 1) the history and continuing impact of settler colonialism on Indigenous communities, particularly in terms of generational trauma, 2) contrasts between Western and Indigenous approaches to knowledge creation and valuation, and 3) the complicated, and at times, exploitive relationship between Anthropology and Indigenous peoples.
