Description
This course provides an examination of environmental justice history, science and policy; investigation of linkages between the built, natural, and social environments as they relate to disproportionate exposures; analysis of how environmental injustice can lead to adverse health effects and health disparities; and discussion of the community‐based movements and tools that have brought about positive change. Students will be introduced to these topics through current and historical case studies. While focused mainly in the United States, international cases and perspectives are also studied.
