ASL 3002 - Advanced American Sign Language II 3 Credit Hours
Pre/Corequisites: Prerequisite: ASL 3001 with grade of “B” or higher. Description This course will focus on everyday communication and interaction in ASL. The purpose of this course is to enable students to enhance proficiency in American Sign Language through a linguistic, communicative, and cultural approach to language learning. There is a continued emphasis on the development of receptive and expressive signing skills. This course builds on the foundation of skills and knowledge learned in ASL 1001, 1002, 2001, 2002, and 3001 - American Sign Language I/II/III/IV/V - and emphasis on expansion and refinement of comprehension, production, and interactional skills. In addition to expanding their vocabulary, students will learn more complex grammatical features through narratives and learning fingerspelling and number rules.
