GEOS 4680 - Oceanography & Climate Change

Pre/Corequisites: Prerequisites: CHEM 1112 and 1112L and one of the following: ENVS 1401 and 1401L; ENVS 1402 and 1402L; GEOG 1112 and 1112L; GEOG 1113 and 1113L; GEOL 1121 and 1121L; or GEOL 1122 and 1122L.
Description
In this course, students will explore classic, impactful, and paradigm-shifting research at the intersections of oceanography, paleoclimatology, and modern climate change. The subdisciplines of biological, chemical, geological, and physical oceanography will be investigated together in relation to key topics of past, present, and future climate change. Students will work with real-world data from these fields and examine routes of scientific inquiry and discovery along the way.
