ART 1301 - Art, Society, and Culture

Description
This course is a survey of world art from prehistory to the present. It explores the relationship of art and artist to past cultures as well as the relevance of the visual arts in our time.NOTE: This course does not fulfill prerequisite requirements for any of the majors in the School of Art & Design. Students in Art & Design majors should instead take one or more of the courses that serve as prerequisites for 3000/4000-level art-history courses that would also complete the Area C: Fine Arts requirement (AH 1700, AH 1750, or AH 1850).
