PMAP 4061 - Policy Evaluation

Description
The purpose of this course is to consolidate and engage student knowledges with the principles of policy evaluation. The course will review concepts such as market failure, public goods, and externalities, as well as other justifications for government involvement. The course will also consider the relationship between public goals and the design of policy. Policy evaluation will use policy tools such as data collection, problem definition, creation of alternatives and criteria, evaluation techniques, and the writing and display of recommendations. Students will engage with these concepts by practical application of problem solving skills on current public policy issues. A grade of C- or higher in ECON 2105 or ECON 2106 is recommended.
