Fintech Innovation Certificate

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: J. Mack Robinson College of Business Departments and Programs

The FinTech Innovation certificate is a 12-credit hour offering that introduces learners to the concepts of FinTech and the transformational impact key technologies are having on traditional financial institutions and practices. The certificate does not have pre-requisites beyond what is required for admission into Robinson’s MBA program. The certificate is designed to provide enough familiarity with FinTech-related concepts to permit students to think creatively about innovative applications and solutions to business challenges. The Innovation Studios allow students to leverage content from their subject matter courses and form interdisciplinary teams, promoting diversity of thought and allowing for a collision of ideas and concepts. Within the teams, students will learn to design compelling and competitive value propositions, develop viable business models that can profitably fulfill these value propositions, and pitch to prospective customers and investors. ENI 8010 - Innovation Studio 1: Innovation and Design Thinking will focus on areas such as ideation, the business model canvas and customer discovery. Students selecting ENI 8011 - Innovation Studio 2: Launch and Scale will continue working on their prototype, diving deeper into new product development and refining their business plans and pitches. The certificate can be completed in 2 or 3 semesters depending on the options selected. The certificate can be taken either stand-alone or students may apply the credits to Robinson’s Master’s in Finance or MBA programs, and other selected graduate programs.

Certificate Applications and Fees. Applicants will use the same application process as graduate applicants at gradapply.gsu.edu/apply. Proposed tuition and fees will be $15,000 for in-state residents and $25,000 for out-of-state residents.

Certificate Requirements

Nine hours are required courses, and students can select the remaining three hours from a prescribed list of additional courses. The certificate, based on the completion of courses with an overall “B” average or higher, will be awarded upon the completion of the 12 credit hours.
