Risk Management and Insurance Concentration

Haci Akcin, Faculty Director, 404-413-7167, hakcin1@gsu.edu

The concentration (12 hours) in risk management and insurance can be chosen from any of the 8000-level RMI prefixed courses. Students may select non-RMI prefixed courses as credit toward a concentration with advance permission of the RMI department’s graduate faculty adviser.

In addition to the general concentration described above, the department participates in a hybrid degree program that leads to a specialization in Financial Risk Management. Students completing the Financial Risk Management Specialization will earn a dual concentration in risk management and insurance and in finance. The specialization is designed to prepare students to work in the treasury departments of nonfinancial firms or as professionals in the financial risk management departments in financial institutions or consultancies.

Concentration Requirements
