Return to: Fine Arts
The Art guided pathways at Perimeter College offers courses in art history, drawing, two-dimensional and three dimensional design, photography, computer design, painting, ceramics, sculpture and portfolio that enable students to explore their career interests. Creative visual thinking is brought to life by a faculty of professional artists who expand skills and prepare students for transfer to four-year programs or for careers as professional artists.
The Art Pathways are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
Studio Art Attendance Policy
Class attendance is required. Absences amounting to no more than 15% of the course meeting days are allowed. The instructor reserves the right to lower a students final grade due to lack of attendance. It is possible for a student to pass all projects, tests, and assignments and still fail the class due to excessive absences. It is the student’s responsibility to understand the full Art attendance policy for every course they take. Refer to the Undergraduate Handbook for other relevant information regarding absences: Student Code of Conduct.

Recommendations
The A.A. in Art pathway does not require a studio concentration. Students are required to take world language, art history, and at least three foundation studio courses. The A.A. in Art has two tracks: Art History and Art. Both tracks align with the coursework students take in the first two years of the Bachelor of Arts programs at GSU Welch School of Art & Design and leads to one of the following two B.A. tracks at the WSAD:
- The Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Art History
- The Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Studio Art
Students who expect to transition to the GSU Welch School of Art and Design campus to focus on a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts should be on the A.S. in Art Pathway.
