Nutrition, B.S.

Students must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 and a science GPA of 2.5 to register for 3000 and 4000 level nutrition courses. Any grade below a C is not acceptable toward the degree. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required to receive the degree. Core IMPACTS and Field of Study  are common to both concentrations. NUTR 3500  , NUTR 3700  , NUTR 4200  , and NUTR 4950   must be completed at Georgia State University.

 

One science sequences with labs from the following options must be completed before taking NUTR 3500   or NUTR 3700  :

Health and Wellness Coach Certificate

Students majoring in Nutrition are eligible to complete requirements to obtain a Health and Wellness Coach Certificate. To satisfy the requirements for the Health and Wellness Coach Certificate, students must complete the requirements for a B.S. in Nutrition and must pass NUTR 4500-Health Coaching I and NUTR 4550-Health Coaching II. Upon graduation, students will have met all education requirements to sit for the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching exam.

Any 3000-4000 level NUTR course (except NUTR 3100) that is not a required courses is an approved elective. Other course may be approved as electives with departmental permission.

Total Program Hours Required: A Minimum of 120 Semester Hours
