CHEM 1211 - Principles of Chemistry I

Prerequisites: MATH 1113 or MATH 1112 with a C or higher, or taken concurrently.
Description
This is the first course in a two-semester sequence covering the fundamental principles and applications of chemistry for science majors. Topics include composition of matter, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, periodic relations, nomenclature, thermochemistry, electronic structure, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, and properties of gases. Note: MATH 1113 is a prerequisite for CHEM 1212/CHEM 1212K. Three lecture hours a week.
