PHPB 9300 - Public Health Leadership and Practice 3 Credit Hours Prerequisites: Must be officially enrolled as a Doctoral-level Public Health major. Description This course covers the use of strategic planning, negotiation, consensus-building, and other change strategies, to facilitate the creation of more effective public health work environments. Students will learn to integrate information, from various sources, and communicate information on health improvement and best practices to diverse stakeholders, regardless of their level of health literacy, to influence behavior, address public health problems, and reduce inequalities. Stakeholders might include health researches, practitioners, community leaders, and other public health partners. Students will also learn to assess their own leadership strengths, weaknesses, and capacity, and discover how to build interpersonal professional public health teams that are culturally proficient.
