Examination of the work of a major media author (Hitchcock, Kubrick, Godard, etc.) or of a media genre (melodrama, Western, situation comedy, etc.), with attention to the theoretical, aesthetic, and social/historical questions raised by the work studies. May be repeated once if topic is different.
