OT 6200 - Applied Concepts of Wellness and Illness


3 Credit Hours
Prerequisites: OT 6100  Analysis and Adaptation of Occupation.
Description
This course examines current theory and research in occupational therapy related to the understanding of individuals’ reactions to disability / disease and the promotion of health and wellness across the lifespan and identifies the role of occupation in the promotion of health and prevention of disease and disability. This course delves into professional ethics and standards of care. Students will utilize American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Ethics, Core Values and Attitudes of OT Practice, and AOTA Standards of Practice as a guide for ethical decision-making while focusing on health and wellness.
