PHPH 7600 - Global Health 3 Credit Hours Description This course combines classroom and interactive instruction to introduce core topics and pertinent issues in global health with a focus on developed and developing countries. It introduces key global health concepts and underscores the critical links between health, disease, and socioeconomic development. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, the course addresses a variety of contemporary global health topics including: essentials of global health; globalization and health; global burden of disease, measurement and trends; culture, behavior and global health; water, sanitation and global health; health and human rights; global health partnerships, and the millennium development goals. The course also examines challenges associated with global health issues and the global efforts and strategies underway to prevent and control them.
