The Department of Counseling and Psychological Services trains graduate students in the fields of counseling and psychology. The department maintains strong relationships with schools, hospitals and community agencies throughout the Atlanta area and the state of Georgia, as well as with other departments in the College of Education & Human Development. Upon graduation, students are qualified to work toward licensure in their disciplines. Graduates become licensed psychologists, licensed professional counselors, national certified counselors and/or certified rehabilitation counselors. School counselors and school psychologists also become certified to work in public schools in Georgia. Doctoral graduates are working in university counseling training programs and leadership positions in schools, hospitals and agency settings.
