Bioinformatics Concentration


Biology Courses (18 hours)


Elective Courses (13 hours)

  • BIOL 6000- and/or 8000-level classes (10 hours). Must include at least 6 hours of topics or concepts and BIOL 6801   orBIOL 8310  except Biol 6900. BIOL 7000-level courses are not applicable.

Interdisciplinary Courses (12 hours)


Select 12 hours of courses in bioinformatics offered by the Mathematics and Statistics and/or Computer Science Departments (specified prerequisites may be used).

Research (53 hours)


Students register for BIOL 8800  before the Dissertation Committee chaired by the faculty advisor approves the Dissertation proposal and BIOL 8999   after the proposal is approved.

Dissertation


Dissertation is submitted to the Dissertation Committee and publicly defended.
