Organic Chemistry Concentration

Concentration Requirements
The general requirements for the Ph.D. program are outlined in the general Ph.D. in Chemistry Section. The specific course requirements for the Organic Chemistry concentration are as follows:
- A minimum of 9 credit hours of Organic Chemistry area core coursework.
- A minimum of 6 credits in chemistry area electives approved by the Organic Chemistry Concentration.
- A minimum of 6 credits of electives approved by the Organic Chemistry Concentration.
- A minimum of 4 credits of CHEM 8800 (Seminar in Chemistry).
- A minimum of 50 hours of research, at least 30 hours of which must be Dissertation Research (CHEM 9999 ).
- 11 credits may be fulfilled by either chemistry electives or CHEM 8910 .
