Digital Filmmaking, (M.F.A.)

Additional Admissions Requirements

In addition to the general requirements of the College of the Arts, the School of Film, Media & Theatre has the following requirements:

  1. All applicants to the M.A. program must submit:
    • A portfolio of creative work (maximum 5 examples of work)
    • A personal statement that contextualizes the portfolio and describes the applicant’s filmmaking goals
    • An example of academic writing (maximum 20 pages)
    • Two letters of recommendation
  2. Applicants for the Filmmaking concentration of the M.F.A. program will be admitted in the fall only. The priority deadline is for the Filmmaking concentration is December 1, and the final deadline is February 10. The school will not consider requests for Special Graduate Status admission.

Degree Requirements


Students must earn a grad of “B” or better in all required coursework.
