CHEM 4680 - Introduction to Glycoscience

Prerequisites: CHEM 2410 with a C or higher; CHEM 3400 is also recommended.
Description
The course discusses the structure and functions of carbohydrates as well as their involvement and roles in diseases. Topics covered include background information on glycobiology, discussions of structure and biosynthesis of glycans, glycan-binding proteins and their involvement in biological events, glycans in physiology and disease, and analytical tools and applications of glycans.
