PHPH 8310 - Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology


3 Credit Hours
Prerequisites: PHPH 7011  or PHPH 7711 ; PHPH 7017 , or be officially enrolled as a Doctoral-level Public Health major.
Description
This course is intended for students pursuing advanced studies both in epidemiology and environmental health. Students will become familiar with the history and use of epidemiology in the determination of health hazards both in the workplace and in the broader environment. Additionally, they will examine the design and analytic strategies necessary for the conduct of both occupational and environmental epidemiologic studies. Finally, students will be introduced to the concept of Bayesian Inference in the interpretation of the published literature.
