GEOS 6016 - Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology

Description
Nature, distribution, and origin of igneous and metamorphic rocks. Includes the Laboratory study of igneous and metamorphic rocks in hand specimen, thin section and their chemical analysis using mass spectrometry. Field study may include trips to the Appalachian Mountains in the Carolinas and/or local rock exposures in Georgia.
