Prepares students to understand language learning processes and best teaching practices to maximize learners’ proficiency. Students create a portfolio to demonstrate their ability to teach foreign languages at home and abroad, in the public or private sector and write about current research on best teaching practices including learner characteristics, second language development, standards-based lesson planning in meaningful cultural contexts and proficiency assessment.
