OT 8025 - Title: Role of Context in Health and Occupational Performance 3 Credit Hours Prerequisites: Prerequisites/Corequisites: Good standing in OTD or PhD programs. Description Course Description: OT8025 is designed for doctoral students in health sciences with a concentration in occupational therapy. The course critically explores the role of the levels of contexts i.e., micro (individual level), mezzo (community level), and macro (social/cultural/geo-political level) in influencing the health and occupational performances of individuals and communities. The course will have two modules. The first module will examine the role of the three levels of physical contexts on human health and occupational performance. The second module will examine the role of non-physical contexts on human health and occupational performance. The format of the course is self-exploration and discussion-based so students gain an advanced level of understanding of context on a global scale and can analyze how contexts can be utilized in occupational therapy intervention at an individual and community level.
