RELS 6150 - Religion and Aging

Description
This class asks what religious studies might offer to contemporary conversations surrounding aging as a political,
ethical, and personal topic. We’ll pay close attention to how growing older shapes and is shaped by a host of social forces,
including race, gender, sexuality, and dis/ability. We will explore how thinking about-and with-religion might help us
imagine aging in new ways-not as a problem to be solved or process to be ignored but as a powerful starting point for political and anthropological reflection.
